Summer Break! Summer Break starts June 1st and ends July 31st. Register for the challenge online and create an account for an individual, a family, class or group. Your account allows you to track reading time and learning activities to collect virtual badges.
Group Visits ImaginOn is a great place for the children in your group to visit during the Summer. We offer visits for students from Preschool to High School. All visits will help the young people in your group have a focused and meaningful experience. (From the Calendar page, click on an event description to access registration). June 1st to August 11th.
Super Saturdays On select Saturday afternoons from June 15 through August 10 at 2:00 pm, Spangler Library will be featuring FREE children's entertainment performers for visiting families. Join us for fun, educational, and entertaining show for ages 3-11. No registration is required for these performances, held in the Wells Fargo Playhouse, but space is limited and first-come, first served. Summer Exhibit Step into the pages of favorite children’s books and joyfully explore literacy-rich environments inspired by beloved and award-winning children’s books. Each story is transformed into a 3D play space where children interact with the story and its character. Here at ImaginOn May 25th through Sept. 7th. Click here for detailed info.
Children’s Theatre of Charlotte Summer Camps Children’s Theatre of Charlotte’s award-winning summer camps offer experiences for students ages 3 to 18 in a fun, interactive environment. Professional teaching artists lead campers in acting, singing, dancing, and art activities. Prices vary.
Children’s Programs. If you have a little one between the ages of birth and 11, we have ramped up our programs for you. In addition to continuing our family Storytimes (for ages 0-5) at 10:30 every Monday-Saturday and our baby Storytimes (for ages 0-18 months) on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 9:30, we are also adding a Preschool Storytime (for ages 3-5) every Monday-Friday and Spanish language Storytimes at 11:30 on two Thursdays a month. We are also adding a program for ages 5-11 twice a day every Monday-Friday, at 11:00 and 2:00, which will be a wide variety of art, science, and drama programs.
Teen Programs Grab your friends and visit the Teen Loft this summer where the staff are hosting "Learn to" sessions for chess, card games, crafts and more. The gaming corner is always open, the 3D printers are running, and Studio i is ready for projects! Preteens (9-12) can hang in the new Preteen Corner in Tech Central and join in on Gaming or Chill Zone programs on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 2-4pm!
